This lightweight application offers you a graphical interface that helps you ping any provided IP address. All you have to do is type the address and select one of the two available ping types. If you select "Ping", X-Ping.CGI will perform the basic ping command and send out four packets to the specified destination and display the results. The "Continuous Ping" command, is the "ping -t" command and will send packets to the address until you manually stop it or it reaches the limit (default is 1000 but you can increase or decrease it according to your needs).
The only settings that X-Ping.CGI lets you modify are: the above-mentioned ping limit, the buffer size (the size of the package - default 32 - bytes) and the buffer filter.
X-Ping.CGI also lets you export the results as text documents. This can prove to be useful. For example, if you need to send the returned information of a ping command to your Internet provider to determine if there is any data loss along the network, then you simply send an e-mail with the text file attached to it.
Not much can be told about X-Ping.CGI, other than the fact that it is pretty much intuitive and straight to the point.
All in all, if you need a lightweight application that eliminates the need of writing the ping command line every time you want to test the response time of a certain IP address, then X-Ping.CGI is the tool suited for that job.
