TextHammer RPG Engine is a nice freeware that represents a great solution if you're looking for a really neat and powerful game engine that helps you create text based RPG type games which can run in the Windows console.
The TextHammer engine allows for the rapid creation of small text-based RPG type games played in the fashion of the old 'Hick Quest' games for the Ti-83 calculator. The games are completely text based and run in the Windows console.
TextHammer plays .rpg files. An .rpg file is basically just an XML document formatted in a specific way. A sample file game.rpg is included in this archive which can be opened with any text editor.
Requirements:
- .net Framework 3.5 or higher is required to run the program.
