Spanish Vocab was developed to be a fun way to practice your Spanish vocabulary. The built-in default list includes over 1800 words and phrases.

When you click on the "Start Test" button, a Spanish translation is selected at random from the Maintenance window information and displayed. Your challenge is to select the correct word or phrase (in English) from the drop-down menu (click on the down arrow key to see the choices) and click on the "My Answer" button. (If you prefer using the keyboard to using the mouse, you can use the Alt-Down-Arrow keys to see the choices, use the Down-Arrow key to highlight your selection, and hit the Return key to enter your answer.) If your answer is correct, you will be awarded five points and the next definition will be displayed automatically after one second. If your answer is incorrect, you will be penalized one point and the correct answer will be displayed. Click on the "Next" button to continue the test. The test is twenty translations. At the end of the test, your score is compared to the scores in the High Scores windows. If your score is above zero and in the top ten scores, your name and score are added to the High Scores table. You can change a name by double-clicking on the name, retyping the name and pressing the "Return" key. If you decide to clear High Scores, you are asked to verify that this was intentional.

A Maintenance window is used to manage the words and phrases used in the game. You can use the default list, add, remove, and change the default list. You can build your own list from scratch and you can load/save a tab delimited plain text file. Double-click on a cell to change information. There are buttons to add and delete rows, clear the table, load a file, save a file, etc. Unusual characters are available for copy/paste.

Sound is supported. You can turn sound on/off using the "Sound" menu item.

High scores, Maintenance window words/translations and sound setting are saved between sessions.
