If you ever had to deal with a rogue process, you are well aware of how annoying it is to remove them. Most of the time though, users face another problem which is detection. Here is an application that will solve both problems in a simple and most convenient manner - RogueKiller.

What is RogueKiller ?

With a name that is fairly descriptive, this little tool sets out to detect and effectively remove rogue processes from running on your PC. RoegueKiller is an application developed using the C++ programming language and has an interface with a command line functionality making it quite simple to use.

All you have to do is run the application (note that on Vista and 7 you may be required to run as administrator); you will be prompted to choose one of multiple numbers corresponding actions displayed on the screen:

- 1 - Scan
- 2 - Delete
- 3 - Hosts fix
- 4 - Proxy fix
- 5 - DNS Fix
- 6 - Shortcuts HJfix
- 0 - Exit

After the scan has been performed, users will get the output results in a text report as well as within the program itself. Usage is pretty self explanatory: if a registry key has been detected, press the 2 key. If you are unsure, feel free to look it up online. In any case, the infected process can be terminated with the help of other specialized tools such as Malwarebytes.

In case you are facing a corrupted HOSTS file, RogueKiller can help by restoring a fresh copy. Same goes for intrusive proxy or DNS.

Some malware will hide your desktop files and folders in which case the Shortcuts HJfix action should do the trick.

Note that RogueKiller works great with any other malware utility and is not designed to replace them.

RoegueKiller takes very little disk space and will consume few system processes while scanning making it resource friendly; installation is not requires, simply download and run the application. What's more, this is all free to use so give it a try!
