Even though this might seem easier and more comfortable, continuously working on the computer can develop several injuries like the common Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). This is why period breaks are recommended and the handy ReRe can help you do that.
ReRe is an easy to use and very useful piece of software that helps you efficiently manage your time spent working on your computer by reminding you to relax from time to time. With the help of this lightweight application you will be able to easily set work and relax periods (the recommended ones are 45 minutes for work duration and 5 minutes for relaxation). Besides providing you with the ability to set up short relaxation periods (from 1 to 10 minutes), ReRe also allows you to perform a long relaxation that varies from 10 and up to 30 minutes. These periods are extremely useful, because, even though short relax periods are good for you, a longer break is required now and then (for eating, stretching or resting your eyes).
After you launch ReRe, it will quietly stay hidden in the system tray and it will only display a small timer on your screen so that you could easily view the remaining working time. The best thing about this handy piece of software is the fact that, when the relaxation period activates, you can choose to completely lock you out of your computer or just disable either the mouse or the keyboard. This way, you will be able to relax, no matter what happens (what are the odds that something really important will occur during your five minute break?).
Furthermore, another handy feature that ReRe provides you with is that it offers you the possibility to auto-pause when your either your computer becomes idle (after 1 to 10 minutes idle) or the fullscreen mode is activated. This can be very useful, because you won't have to worry that you will be locked out from your computer while playing a game or watching a movie.
