About The Softoxi Awards

The Softoxi awards for a software are granted by the member of the Softoxi team that has thoroughly tested that product. The Softoxi editor grants the awards to a software according to some criteria such as the following:
- No spyware, trojans, viruses or other malware threats included
- No adware. If it's an ad-supported product, the ads should be unobtrusive and harmless to the system.
- The program is easy to use, providing an intuitive and friendly interface that the average user can handle with ease.
- The program features a professional-looking interface, without design flaws, omissions, or any other clearly visible problems.
- The product has a reasonable file size for its category.
- The price of the product is suitable for what the product provides.
- If existing, the installation process is easy and fast. If additional options or hidden objects and tasks are involved, they are presented or explained in such way that the newbie user does not risk damaging his/her system because of misunderstood choices.
- The program provides convenient ways to be launched (creates shortcuts, system autostart entries, etc.)
- The program comes with uninstall feature and also removes all traces (or at least the most of them) of itself from the hard drive (we uninstall every tested product using the powerful Revo Uninstaller to be able to monitor this aspect as well).
- If needed, an easy to read and to understand help system comes built in with the program.
- The producer offers professional-looking home pages with easy to find download links, program information, contact information and help for the products.
- How it compares to the other software in its category.
- The reliability of the program (no crashes or errors in usage, the quality of the output, etc.)
- The flexibility of the program (the number of options or additional features and their usefulness, customization options, etc.)
- Our visitors' opinions and their past experience with the program.


About the Recommended Software area

If a product completes a large majority of the criteria that also grants it a Softoxi award, it will also be checked by the entire Softoxi team and if we reach the same agreement, it will be added to the "Recommended" area on our main page.
Therefore the products listed on the Recommended section are the ones we considered the best of their kind.
