With storage devices continuously growing we find ourselves using storing our entire music collection conveniently on our hard drives. However when posed with such a large variety of options, we often ask a most pertinent question: Which song / artist / genre should I listen to now ? And here to give you an answer to that question is Music Picker.
Music Picker is a free Windows application that allows users to to randomly pick one or more audio tracks based on a choice of either album, song, artist or genre entries. With Music Picker you will no longer find yourself scrolling your entire music playlist and try to find a song, or endlessly skipping tracks. The utility will determine it for you.
Music Picker works for different situations. Using it may re-discover bands or tracks you haven't listened to in a long time. Enjoy a selection of various genres or artists that would not normally go one after the other in your playlist.
The application has no restriction over the software you use to listen your files to. By default it is associated with Windows Media Player but you can input the desired means for playback yourself whether Winamp, FooBar, iTunes or other players you are currently using.
Music Picker is quite straightforward to use thanks to its simple and well designed graphical user interface. You start off by adding your music to the program's database. The application then creates a temporary list made up of either music folders or playlist inputs. You can specify any audio file for Music Picker to look for simply by entering the file extension.
In order to get your next track(s), hit the Pick Music button and you will be prompted with a choice of artist, album, genre or song. Based on your select one or more tracks will be added to the list. Entries are masked so your choice will be completely random. The list itself can be shuffled or reversed multiple times, save into the m3u format, tracks can be removed or automatically played with your set music player.
