I'm sure that the vast majority of you are very familiar with Tetris and that some of you know the puzzle game called "Pipes", but did you ever wonder how would a 3D combinations of those 2 game look like? KinetriX will help you find out.
Kintetrix is a 3D designed fun and challenging game where you score by piecing together as many inclosed pipe systems as possible. The larger the system, the more points you score.
KinetriX has the advantage of being a very easy to control game where all the possible actions will be performed with the help of your mouse. The read beam represents the line where the next piece of your puzzle will fall and you will need to rotate the mouse wheel in order to move it, left or right clicking on a certain cube will make it rotate clockwise or counterclockwise, while pressing the wheel will make the respective piece instantly fall.
A very cool twist that KinetriX offers is the fact that it actually applies the principle of inertia: when you are moving the red (tractor) beam, the falling piece has a bit of delay in following it and if you are moving too fast it will tend to continue its movement even if you have stopped moving the beam, so be careful or you may end up with a certain block two spaces away from where you actually wanted to place it.
Unlike Tetris, where your goal was to complete as many lines as possible, KinetriX offers a slightly different approach: on the visible part of the cubes, you will notice different shapes of pipes; your aim is to create an unbroken, closed system in order to make those blocks disappear and get points on the board. The more points you get, the more complicated pipe shapes will appear.
Summing up, KinetriX is an entertaining, challenging and addictive game that provides an unconventional 3D combination of Tetris and Pipes.
