Chances are that if a band or artist makes it big with a catchy / soapy song, someone will automatically parody the lyrics to a more or less comedic effect. If this is something you have always wanted to do but needed the extra help, we give you - Jester: The Song Parody Editor.
Jester is an open source application designed to provide a little aid for those looking to parody song lyrics. It does so by offering a well designed graphical interface split among multiple side by side panels for the original / parody lyrics and the rhyming dictionary.
The utility includes the ability to automatically count syllables and synchronize the scrolling between the original and parody lyrics panels.
Using Jester is quite straightforward, start off by copying and pasting some song lyrics into the original lyrics box. Side by side you can write your own lyrics and whenever you lose your inspiration and are unable to find a good rhyme, highlight the word and press the Get Rhymes button. From the newly available list highlight the rhyme you find most useful and press Use. That's all there is to it.
You can save your work in a single file that contains both original and parody lyrics that can be reloaded into Jester.
Jester is compatible with multiple Windows systems including 2000, Xp, Vista and 7.
Jester encourages creativity for humoristic purposes and is completely free, all the more reason to give it a try.
