Gnumeric is a great tool that provides the same features as MS Excel as well as many additional ones, but all for free. A truly complete, accurate, fast and reliable spreadsheet application.

Gnumeric is a truly powerful application created to be the best possible spreadsheet. Gnumeric is not meant to clone existing applications, but it can read files saved with other spreadsheets and provides a customizable feel that attempts to minimize the costs of transition.
Gnumeric is completely free. Gnumeric and its source code are available free of charge, licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License. This makes it easy to audit, and make custom extensions.
Gnumeric is also really fast, being able to handle large spreadsheets while remaining responsive.
It's also accurate and reliable. A spreadsheet should calculate the right answer. Gnumeric's built-in functions and tools are accurate.
