Hard disk capacity is constantly growing in size and it is relatively cheap to get a few terabytes of disk space on your PC. That however comes with its own set of problems especially in locating and keeping track of data. Here is one tool that might be able to make it all easy - Folder Scout.
Folder Scout is a time saving tool for Windows users; within just a few keystrokes you will be able to find folders across any disk location.
How does it do it ? Folder Scout catalogs one or more user-defined drives; if you wish to locate a folder simply press F7 to bring up the program's interface and start typing. Results are provided as you type. Double click on one of the results and Windows Explorer will be prompted with the location on the disk of that folder. Simple as that.
Right click on a result to search files in that folder, open command prompt, copy path to clipboard.
Alternatively you can create favorite folders, access directories in the recent folders list as well as documents.
You may change the appearance of Folder Scout, with a selection of four built-in themes.
Export Folder Scout data and search results to a file with standard format for later use.
Folder Scout does not use any indexing engine making it quite resource friendly.
The application has a smart, intuitive and well designed interface. You won't get lost among useless features or cluttered workspace.
Folder Scout integrates into the right click context menu; you can quickly any folder to your list of favorites.
The utility is compatible with most Windows versions including NT, 2000, 2003, 2008, XP, Vista and 7. You can download and use for free for a 30 day period.
