Eternal Sunshine is a neat Chrome extension with a handy feature: you get to hide your friends on Facebook without unfriending them. Very easy to use and equally efficient.

Eternal Sunshine is a Chrome extension removes friends from view on Facebook pages without unfriending them.
Although Facebook has a "hide" feature, it only affects items in the news feed. "Hidden users" still appear in profile updates, profile photo updates, suggested albums, friend finder suggestions, etc.
Eternal Sunshine is a more complete hide. It's not perfect yet, but it gets rid of the most prevalent Facebook content.
To hide a user, input their username or user ID into the input box, and hit enter/return. (The input box resides in the extension's pop-up, which appears after clicking the Eternal Sunshine icon adjacent to the URL bar.)
