While browsing online we find ourselves encountering words whose meaning we fail to understand and that's when we look them up in dictionaries. There are a wide range of such resources but in all these cases, we bring up a new tab or window and often disrupt the flow of reading / comprehension. Luckily there are a few utilities designed to deal with this inconvenience and DictionaryTip is one of them.
Originaly created for Firefox users and later on ported for Chrome, DictionaryTip is a browser extension that allows users to look up word definitions without leaving the page they are currently visiting. The utility integrates perfectly into your browser and includes a few user customization options.
You can now read articles without having to open a new tab or window each time you come upon a word you don't know. Get instant access to a choice of online dictionaries and resources with just a simple double click. DictionaryTip supports the addition of multiple websites where the query will be performed. The extension is easily customizable in terms of new resources and where they will be prompted into your browser. You can also use a keyboard shortcut of your choice.
If you are not content with a certain definition provided by a website, simply switch to another. For some websites, translations are also available.
DictionaryTip for Chrome is as most extensions quite fast to install and use; it features a friendly interface and is sure to help you save time with simple and convenient mouse or keyboard actions while improving your vocabulary.
