Screen shots are images captured by special software of the PC screen for various purposes. With the help of annotations and comments you can create full fledged tutorials or perhaps an amusing picture and share it with your friends and family.
They say that images convey more than words can express sometimes and this is certainly the case when taking screen shots. Captureka does exactly that and with great ease. All you have to do is press Print Screen and the application will prompt you to select an area of the screen.
What's more, Captureka allows the addition of annotations and comments. You can add them on newly taken screenshots, by creating news or by adding some of your own images. You can create tutorials and point out certain interesting aspects with the help of boxes and arrows.
Captureka's graphical user interface makes the application straightforward and easy to use. You can crop, resize images, select the objects you have added (rectangles, text, lines) and much more straight from the main interface. Define foreground, background color, line width, zoom in and out.
Save the image file in a choice of formats between JPEG, PNG and CAP files (structured vector format).
Captureka makes it all easy with the help of hotkeys: just press PrtScr, take a region snapshot, annotate with lines (L key), add rectangles (R), you can then copy eg. to email (Ctrl+C) or save (Ctrl+S). Alternatively, you can use the provided toolbars, whatever suits your needs.
Note that you can use Captureka for free but with some limitations imposed such as the blend effect and vector format saved file (CAP) will not be supported and a watermark will be added. However in all other aspects, Captureka is fully functional even as a free version.
The licensed version enables users to save created snapshots in structured vector format, further edit of created comments, lines and other graphic elements is possible.
Captureka requires the pre-installation of .NET Framework on your system. It takes very little of your system resources and lies unobtrusively in the system tray.
