Simple-to-use, friendly and yet feature-rich Bible study software.
The idea behind the creation of the impressive ActionBible software was to keep it simple, fast to use, with a couple of extra bells and whistles to really make it useful, so that users could get right to studying the pure Word of God, quote Scripture in e-mails, message boards or newsgroups, write a note or journal, and even preparation of sermons.
The software is shy on graphics and pretty things in order that the Word of God might be the beautiful thing we behold.

--- ActionAlerts
Using the power of RSS Feeds and an internet connection, ActionBible includes regularly updated alerts on persecuted Christians around the world, and other useful articles and information for those seeking to put the Word of God into action!
--- ActionOverlay
The unique feature allows you to select any passage of Scripture and have it overlayed on your Windows desktop. Use it to display your favorite verse, or combine it with your own images to create your own custom desktop wallpaper.
--- ActionReading
ActionBible allows you to read more than just the Bible. For example, download the Treasury of David by C.H. Spurgeon for some insights into the Psalms - the commentary is automatically integrated into the right-click menu on the Bible reading window, or you can read through it separately if you prefer.
Other commentaries and teaching materials are included in ActionBible™, and many more will be available in future.
--- Browsing the Bible
To browse a bible, simply click on the name of a book in the Bible Book tree section. the first chapter in the book will automatically be selected and display in the bible text window. Once a chapter or book name is clicked, the new text for that chapter will be displayed immediately.
--- Using the Bible Text Window
The bible text window has many useful features. Store notes for a specific verse, highlight verses, and have formatted copy (for the clipboard) and formatted printing. To access these features, simply right-click on a verse or selection. You will see the following options:
-Copy Verses
This option will copy the selected verse or verses to the clipboard in the format specified under the Copy Passage section.
-Copy Selection
Click "Copy Selection" to copy the selected text to the clipboard exactly as it is selected on the screen. No additional text or formatting will be included.
-Compare...
The "Compare" option is a feature that pops up a new window in order to compare the currently selected bible version to another (version options are found under Bible Options). The popup windows will allow you to see both translations of the selected verses side by side.
-Notes...
You may find that you want to save notes for a particular verse. Choose this option to save your notes for this verse in Rich Text Format, which can be read by most word processors. The notes are stored in the Notes subdirectory in the ActionBible™ program folder. If a note already exists, the scripture reference will be underlined, and you will be able to edit the existing note. If you prefer not to have the scripture reference underlined when a note exists,
-Highlight
The highlighter allows you to highlight verses or parts of verses in one of four different colors: yellow, hot pink, bright green, and light blue. Only a single highlighted section can exist per verse.
-Print Verses
Use this option to print the selected verse or verses in the format specified under the Copy Passage section.
-Print Selection
Click "Print Selection" to print the selected text exactly as it is selected on the screen, without completing the verses or changing the format.
-Print Chapter
This option will print the chapter in the format specified under the Copy Passage section.
-Scripture Reference Color
You can change the color of the scripture reference by navigating to Tools->Colors... and selecting Scripture Reference Color.
-Scripture Text Font & Size
Select the font face and size by navigating to Tools->Options... and on the General tab, make your font selections.
-Display Options
There are three styles from which to choose how the scriptures are presented on the screen. You can choose the style you want by navigating to Tools->Options..., and on the General tab, select Style 1, Style 2, or Style 3.

ActionBible includes a bible search engine, which provides accurate search results for the word or words your are looking for. You can choose between three types of searches.
--- Formatted Copying and Printing
This panel, located on the right side of the ActionBible application window, allows you to set options for how scriptures are copied to the clipboard or printed. You can also type in a specific passage to copy to the clipboard.

-Scripture Notes
To add or edit a note for a scripture, simply navigate to that scripture reference, right-click, and click Notes.... To browse all your scripture notes, from the main menu, click Notes->Browse Scripture Notes.... When creating a new scripture note, the scripture is automatically added at the beginning of the note.

You can create your own notes by click Notes from the main menu, and selecting New Note. You can browse all your study notes by clicking Notes->Browse Notes... from the main menu.

ActionBible™ also includes a daily journal, where you can write notes throughout your day. When creating or adding to a journal entry, a time stamp is automatically added for you. To browse through your journals, click Journal->Browse Journals... from the main menu.

- Backup
Backup allows you to copy all of your data files to another location for safe storage, or for use with another installation. Select the folder and click Backup to copy all data files and application settings to the specified folder. Check the Backup On Exit box to make sure your data is backed up every time you close the program.
- Restore
Restore lets you recover your backed up data in case of corruption or missing data. Select the folder where you would like to restore your settings and files from, then click Restore.
