If you are a website administrator you need to be aware as soon as possible of when your server fails to respond. This way you can check the problem and bring it back online. What you need is a network monitoring software. Incidentally here is one that does exactly that.
10-Strike Network Monitor is a software built for the purpose of providing constant watch over multiple devices (hosts) and warn you should it fail to respond. It is able of working with multiple hosts at once and it is highly customizable in terms of alerts, host types and triggers.
10-Strike Network Monitor creates reports and conveniently enough charts over a pre-defined time interval.
10-Strike Network Monitor sends out ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) packets / Ping thus checking the current status. Depending on the result returned, the application will change the display color of the monitored resource (green - resource available, red - resourced failed to respond).
You can start off by adding hosts straight from the toolbar; notice the list of available types is quite generous and diverse: workstation, laptop, playstation, DVD player, time / web / proxy / mail / file servers and may more. Define planned downtimes if that is the case and proceed to edit further settings. Right click context menu will provide you with a built-in wizard where you can configure all the parameters specific for your need. Setup events in case the monitoring has proved a success or a failure: run an application, play a sound, send a mail or text message, start, stop or restart a service or computer, execute a script.
Add more then one host and organize them comprehensively in a tree like structure. You can view host response in real time, over the last hour or a pre-defined interval as well as downtime and a quick summary.
Few applications provide such a wide number of host types to monitor. With this tool you can watch over multiple hosts at the same time, fully customize the response and all of this with the minimum of effort. 10-Strike Network Monitor has a pretty self explanatory interface focusing on providing quick and accurate results.
